I bought this to do with my son, but he wasn’t interested so I assembled it myself. I have experience building 2 different complex marble runs by Rokr, so this was pretty straightforward and the end result is fun and works well.
I liked the quality of the wooden parts – I never felt like I was about to break one. The gears were easy to get to mesh, the motor was simple to set up, and I liked that there’s an option for either solar or battery. I loved that it was plug and play because I hate messing with bare wires.

I enjoyed assembling this project. It was my first project of this kind. It was designed very well. The instructions were mostly clear diagrams. Pay attention to the details in the diagrams, or assembly might be a tiny bit off. There were a few times that things got a bit confusing, but I eventually got it right. The parts are very precisely cut. They can be delicate and break if you are heavy handed. Working carefully and not rushing is the key. I didn’t use any extra tools other than what was provided. Glue was not necessary and I probably wouldn’t recommend it . It holds together pretty well on it’s own.
